Empire United's Margiotta, Wolak Earn United Soccer Coaches All East Region Honors

Empire United players Adriano Margiotta (McQuaid) and Emily Wolak (Aquinas) were recently named to the Fall High School All-East Region Teams by United Soccer Coaches (formerly National Soccer Coaches Association of America, or NSCAA).  United Soccer Coaches awards are the highest honors an individual high school player can receive nationally.

Margiotta led McQuaid to an unprecedented "unblemished" season in 2017.  Finishing without a loss or a tie throughout the season (22-0-0), the Knights captured the Boys Class A State Championship, and finished with a #3 National Ranking in the USA Today Boys Super Poll.

Wolak had equal success in 2017, leading Aquinas to the Girls Class B State Championship.  Wolak was also recognized by the New York State Sportswriters Association, being named 1st Team All State in Class B.
